The CompuSire program is equipped with a database of over 110,000 Thoroughbred names (as of 2002, but expanded with annual updates) that constitute the ancestries of the contemporary stallion population, stakes winners born since 1982, and a selection of descendents of the most important female families.
One of the important features of the program is its five-generation screen display for referencing ancestries of individuals or displaying prospective matings.
